"Vision" is defined by the Oxford Dictionary of English as "the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom." My vision is to partner with you to envision the possibilities for a future of health and wellness and assist you to accept, believe and achieve the life that you imagined.
Working with patients for over 20 years, I have been able to see first-hand the impact that lifestyle choices - poor nutrition, drinking excessively, smoking, lack of down time, lack of exercise, etc. - have on overall health. Studies show that many chronic diseases are preventable and can be managed through lifestyle changes. We are not our genetics. Positive lifestyle changes have a significant impact on which genes are expressed. I take a holistic approach to health and wellness, which addresses the mind, body and spirit.
With so many choices today, it can be confusing and overwhelming deciding on how to go about making lasting changes to improve your health and wellness. Change has more to do with our thoughts and feelings than with our actions. Change is about connecting our heads with our hearts. With my training in coaching psychology and my background in healthcare, I can assist you to learn a new way of thinking, narrow down the options, and design a plan that is tailored to your specific needs. My personal health and wellness activities include: meditation, yoga, dance aerobics, strength training, walking and following a healthy diet, which includes eating plenty of vegetables.
